“To those who ask if Iran possesses a ‘surprise,’ the answer is yes, we have a surprise for the U.S.
If war breaks out, we’ll break America’s horns in a way that will have the whole world watching.”
A terror attack on American soil or strikes on desalination plants needed for drinking water in the Gulf?
Let’s hope we don’t find out!

78% of foreigners who fought in the Russian army and were captured by the Ukrainian Defense Forces want to return to Russia. This was reported by Andriy Yusov, head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, as quoted by hromadske .
At the same time, he noted that in the Russian Federation, for the most part, they do not want to take them away.
Yusov said that some of the foreign prisoners of war, during questioning, claimed they had no idea they would end up in the war against Ukraine, saying they were going to Russia to “paint fences” or “attend a cultural festival.” However, according to a survey by the Coordination Headquarters, almost 50% of foreign prisoners of war admitted that they knew that they were “going to war and fighting against Ukrainians.”
Yusov reported that the Russian Federation recruits approximately 1,800 foreigners into its army every month.
According to him, in 2022, fewer than 100 foreigners were known to have been recruited into the Russian army, while in the first nine months of 2026 alone, their number exceeded 16,000.
Yusov also reported that, according to intelligence data, Russia plans to recruit 18,500 foreigners by 2026, but this plan will most likely be exceeded in the near future. In total, the Coordination Headquarters knows the personal data of nearly 49,000 foreigners who have signed contracts and served or are serving in the Russian army.
“For comparison, the entire Belgian army is 20,000 strong; Austria, for example, is 22,000. Slovakia, I believe, has up to 16,000. So, this is a truly global threat, far from just against Ukraine. And it’s gaining momentum, its scale is expanding,” Yusov emphasizes.
He noted that Russia is attracting foreigners to reduce social tensions and compensate for demographic losses among its own population.
“Foreigners aren’t recruited so they’ll return, so they can say, ‘Thank you for your service.’… A mercenary or foreigner in the Russian army is, in any case, a smaller expense than a Russian or a citizen. And bringing them back isn’t as appealing, because then requests from their country of origin automatically follow,” Yusov said.
At the same time, Russia is not releasing foreigners whose military contracts have expired. According to the Coordination Headquarters, there are over 3,000 known cases of this. Russia continues to deceptively recruit foreign citizens to participate in the war against Ukraine.
An Amnesty International report says this amounts to human trafficking.
Human rights activists noted that Russia uses deceptive, coercive, and exploitative methods to recruit citizens from low-income countries such as Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, and Somalia. They are often promised civilian or non-combat positions, but are in fact sent directly to the front lines.
It is noted that hundreds of foreign citizens, sent by Russia to war, are being held captive in Ukraine. Some of them told the human rights organization that Russian authorities forced them to join the armed forces when their Russian residence permits were about to expire
