Court returned for the fourth day of the preliminary hearing in the Charlie Kirk murder case, with prosecutors planning to show a key interview with the suspect’s roommate.
Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing political activist Charlie Kirk, is in court for the pretrial hearing as prosecutors work to prove probable cause. If the state presents enough evidence, the case will go to trial.
Much of Wednesday’s session was spent discussing a video of an interview with Lance Twiggs, Tyler Robinson’s roommate and reported romantic partner. A redacted version of the video was shown.
Agent Brian Davis returned to the stand for the first time today as prosecution showed redacted video of Lance Twiggs. Twiggs was given immunity for anything he said during the video.
In the video, Twiggs said he met Tyler Robinson for the first time in person in 2023 as a new roommate. They started dating a few months after Robinson moved into the St. George apartment.
Twiggs said Tyler Robinson left early on the morning of Sept. 10, saying he had a long drive to work. Twiggs also spoke about a time before Sept. 10 when Robinson asked if they had a dremel so he could engrave bullets for a hunting trip.
Shortly into the video, the screen went to black as the court ruled the referenced text messages could not be shown during the preliminary hearing.
