The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it has eliminated Mohammad Fathi Abd al-Hay Abu Fakher, identified as the commander of Hamas’ Yibna Battalion in the Rafah Brigade, during a strike in Rafah. According to the IDF, Abu Fakher was involved in recruiting fighters, rebuilding the battalion’s capabilities, and overseeing weapons smuggling and supply operations for Hamas’ military wing.
The Israeli military described him as a veteran Hamas operative with nearly two decades of experience in the group’s logistics and smuggling network. The strike comes as Israeli operations continue across Gaza amid the ongoing conflict.
