According to reported leaks, the draft agreement would extend the ceasefire for 60 days, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, ease parts of the pressure on Iran, and delay deeper nuclear negotiations for a second stage. Tehran is publicly denying that it approved a final text, while Trump says an announcement on the signing date could come soon.
Even as talks move forward, reports from the Gulf describe Iranian attacks against ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The central question now is whether this is a real path to an agreement—or a 60-day pause that gives the United States time to calm energy markets, keep military pressure in place, and prepare for the next phase if Iran refuses to compromise on its nuclear program.
Israeli officials are reportedly surprised by the speed of diplomatic progress and concerned that the understandings may include Lebanon. According to Lebanese reporting, the broader framework could involve a fast Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon, an end to military operations, and the release of Hezbollah terrorists held by Israel. Netanyahu’s statement suggests that the 60-day framework does not yet include a full agreement on enriched uranium, nuclear facilities, missiles, or Iran’s proxies.
Yair Pinto and Mati Shoshani break down whether Trump stopped a war—or bought himself 60 days to prepare for one under better conditions. They also ask whether this deal prevents a global energy war while leaving Israel alone with the real threats: Iran’s nuclear program, missiles, Hezbollah, and the future of the region.

The government seems to be in a bit of a pickle.
Oh no!
Anyway, a few thoughts on the defence topic.
Firstly, defence of the realm is clearly important. One of the main duties of government. And our armed forces are in a sorry state thanks to decades of mismanagement by all

🇰🇷 Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol sentenced to additional 30 years in prison
Yoon Suk Yeol has been given another 30-year prison sentence for secretly ordering the launch of drones into North Korean airspace in autumn 2024.
According to investigators, the goal was to provoke a military response from Pyongyang and use the resulting border crisis as a pretext to declare martial law in South Korea.
This sentence is added to the life imprisonment he already received earlier this year for treason and an attempted coup.
Key accomplices were also sentenced:
– Former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun: 30 years in prison
– Former military counterintelligence chief Yeo In-hyun: 15 years in prison
– Former UAV command chief Kim Yong-dae: 3 years probation— Visegrád 24 (@visegrad24) Jun 12, 2026
A Syrian source close to the Damascus government says Turkey has recently advised Ahmad al-Sharaa against being drawn into a confrontation with Hezbollah inside Lebanon. Ankara’s calculation is that Hezbollah’s complete destruction would strengthen Israel – an outcome it considers undesirable.
Working against Turkey’s efforts, Trump said this week that al-Sharaa wants to assist in the fight against Hezbollah. Al-Sharaa is expected in Washington next week, where Trump may try to enlist him on the Hezbollah issue despite Turkish objections.
