BREAKING:
Polling stations in Moldova and nearly all Moldovan consulates in Europe have now closed.
President Maia Sandu’s pro-EU PAS party is in track to win the election with 43.5% of the votes right now (60% of the votes have been counted).
A PAS victory would make it likely that Moldova can join the EU in the 2030s.
Some experts believe it could join the EU a bit later, but after forming a new unified state with Romania, bringing things back to how they were before the Soviet aggression against Romania in 1940.
