But if I’m serious, this photo was taken on July 4, when, as part of the IVLP program, we were taken to the #Canada-#US border. The border was marked by pillars — there were no armed forces or gunfire. Vehicles were moving in both directions almost without obstacles, simply passing through checkpoints.
This is the ideal state we should strive for between #Armenia and #Azerbaijan as well. Achieving it requires the building of lasting and institutional peace in both countries.
However, that won’t happen anytime soon, because President Aliyev wants Azerbaijanis traveling through Armenia not to see any Armenians. That’s a rather amusing approach.
