In New Orleans, a car drove into a crowd during New Year’s celebrations. The FBI is investigating the incident as a terrorist act, states US President Joe Biden, according to the White House website.
US President Joe Biden stated that from the early morning, the leadership of federal law enforcement agencies and his internal security team have been briefing him on the horrific incident that occurred overnight in New Orleans.
“The FBI is taking the lead in the investigation and is investigating this incident as an act of terrorism,” Biden emphasized.
He also expressed gratitude for the brave and swift response of local law enforcement in preventing further deaths and injuries.
“I have directed my team to ensure every resource is available as federal, state, and local law enforcement work assiduously to get to the bottom of what happened as quickly as possible and to ensure that there is no remaining threat of any kind,” the president stated.
Biden added that he would receive updates throughout the day and provide more information when it becomes available.
“n the meantime, my heart goes out to the victims and their families who were simply trying to celebrate the holiday. There is no justification for violence of any kind, and we will not tolerate any attack on any of our nation’s communities,” he concluded.
Terrorist attack in New Orleans
Today, January 1, in New Orleans, a pickup truck drove into a crowd of people celebrating the New Year. Ten people have been confirmed dead, and 30 others have been injured.

Israel will deliver “blows with a force not seen in Gaza for a long time” if the terrorist group Hamas does not release the hostages it has held for the past 14 months and does not stop its rocket attacks, states Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, according to The Times of Israel.
“If Hamas does not soon allow the release of the Israeli hostages from Gaza, despite Israel’s willingness to make far-reaching compromises in accordance with the principles outlined by the US president, and continues to fire at Israeli communities, it will receive blows with a force not seen in Gaza for a long time,” Katz stated.
It was reported that last night Hamas fired two rockets at the city of Netivot. There were no casualties or damage.
“The IDF will intensify its activities against the terror nests in Gaza until the release of the hostages and the elimination of Hamas,” the minister noted.
He also urged the residents of the Gaza Strip to rise up against the Hamas terrorists who are using them as human shields and to work towards the release of the hostages to prevent suffering and end the war.
War between Israel and Hamas
