Good things never come to those who take Gym Jordan seriously. CNN learned that the hard way the other night. On Tuesday evening, CNN host Laura Coates inexplicably decided to really reach high for those missing CNN ratings by inviting Gym Jordan onto her show. That’ll do the trick, Laura!!
This was not a good move because, as anyone who has ever watched Gymbo for more than a minute can tell you, when Gym comes into view, the earplugs come out. The man knows no other language except the art of the scream.
So it was not a particular surprise when Gym went nuts on the air, with this writer happily along for the ride and taking many a note. Of course, the discussion was about Robert Hur, otherwise known as a lying liar and a lousy Special Prosecutor who lied about Biden not knowing the date of his son’s passing.
Coates, doing her job for once (sorry but it’s true) asked Gym about TRUMP’s memory as, she explained he seems to have cognitive issues. Faster than one could say “Clooney movie out soon,” the Gym was lost in the wailing of his own screams.
“Come on,” Gym screeched. “Come on,” he added helpfully.
“Come on.”
“To say there’s a comparison there made no sense.”
On and on Gym went, spinning and spinning and to quote a popular song from the eighties:
“Like a record, baby. Right Round, round, round” Gym went with his spin.
The Gym seemed VERY intent on convincing viewers what a great guy his master Trump is and how President Biden should have been arrested for something but was not because of a deep-state conspiracy.
Coates spun back, saying there are videos of Trump in a confused state. Gym then did what the Gyminator does best. He utters those words again.
“Come on, Laura”
“Come on. Come on.”
I wonder if Gym knows any other words. Could “come on” be the only words in his vocabulary?
“Come on.”
“You gotta be kidding me!!”
Such intelligent responses. Such emoting!
“Double standard!!”
Basically, this was a wasted segment. Anything featuring Gym is wasted time. Perhaps CNN should have thought twice before having this train wreck of a human being grace their television screens. Then again, considering CNN’s current ratings issues, it’s not like many people were watching anyway.

PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) — The father of a Michigan school shooter was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter Thursday, a second conviction against the teen’s parents who were accused of failing to secure a gun at home and doing nothing to address acute signs of his mental turmoil.
The jury verdict means James Crumbley has joined Jennifer Crumbley as a cause of the killing of four students at Oxford High School in 2021, even without pulling the trigger.
They had separate trials as the first U.S. parents to be charged in a mass school shooting committed by their child. Jennifer Crumbley was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in February.
The verdicts — one each for the four victims — were read around 7:15 p.m. at the end of a full day of deliberations.
James Crumbley heard the outcome through headphones worn throughout the trial because of a hearing problem. He shook his head from side to side as the jury foreman said “guilty.”
Family of some of the fallen students wept quietly and gripped each other’s hands in the second row of the courtroom gallery.
“I know this verdict will not bring them back,” prosecutor Karen McDonald said, “but I hope it will serve as an example of the importance of holding those who enable gun violence accountable.”
Prosecutors focused on two key themes at the trial: the parents’ response to a morbid drawing on Ethan Crumbley’s math assignment a few hours before the shooting, and the teen’s access to a Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun purchased by James Crumbley only four days earlier.
Ethan made a ghastly drawing of a gun and a wounded man on a math assignment and added disturbing phrases, “The thoughts won’t stop. Help me. My life is useless.”
But James and Jennifer Crumbley declined to take Ethan home following a brief meeting at the school, and staff didn’t demand it. A counselor, concerned about suicidal ideations, told them to seek help for the boy within 48 hours.
Ethan had told Shawn Hopkins that he was sad over the death of his dog and grandmother and the loss of a friend who had abruptly moved away. He said the drawing was simply his jottings for a video game and that he wasn’t planning to commit violence.
Neither he, nor his parents, told school officials about the gun they had just bought, according to trial testimony.
Hopkins had hoped Ethan would spend the day with his parents. But when that was ruled out, the counselor felt the teen would probably be safer around others at school.
Ethan later pulled the Sig Sauer from his backpack and began shooting that same day, killing Justin Shilling, 17; Madisyn Baldwin, 17; Hana St. Juliana, 14; and Tate Myre, 16. No one had checked the bag, though a school administrator had joked about its heaviness.
“James Crumbley is not on trial for what his son did,” McDonald told the jury Wednesday. “James Crumbley is on trial for what he did and for what he didn’t do.”
He “doesn’t get a pass because somebody else” actually pulled the trigger, she said.
Hopkins told the jury that James Crumbley showed empathy toward his son during the meeting about the drawing, but took no additional action.
When James Crumbley heard about the shooting, he rushed home from his DoorDash job and looked for the gun.
“I think my son took the gun,” he said in a frantic 911 call.
Investigators found an empty gun case and empty ammunition box on the parents’ bed. A cable that could have locked the gun was still in a package, unopened.
Ethan told a judge when he pleaded guilty to murder and terrorism that the gun was not locked when he stuffed it in his backpack before school.
Defense attorney Mariell Lehman tried to emphasize that James Crumbley did not consent to any gun access by his son.
“He did not know he had to protect others from his son,” she told jurors. “He did not know that it was reasonably foreseeable that his son would commit these offenses. He had no idea what his son was planning to do.”
There was no testimony from experts about Ethan’s mental health, and no records were introduced. The boy’s lawyers said before trial that he would invoke his right to remain silent if called to testify.
But the judge allowed the jury to see excerpts from the teen’s handwritten journal.
“I have zero help for my mental problems and it’s causing me to shoot up the … school,” Ethan wrote. “I want help but my parents don’t listen to me so I can’t get any help.”

The North Korean regime takes most of the wages its workers earn abroad to fund its nuclear and missile programs.
The source, who asked not to be named because the person was not authorized to speak to the press, provided the names of the restaurants in Korean and Chinese and their addresses in China to VOA’s Korean Service.
The U.N. Panel of Experts that monitors enforcement of sanctions against North Korea is expected to include the list in a report scheduled for publication in the coming weeks, the source said.
The U.S. called for all U.N. member states to enforce sanctions on North Korea when asked about VOA Korean’s findings.
“Under Security Council Resolution 2397, all U.N. member states are obligated to repatriate DPRK nationals earning income in their jurisdiction, subject to certain exceptions,” a U.S. State Department spokesperson said. DPRK stands for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the country’s official name.
“Revenue generated by overseas DPRK laborers is used to fund the DPRK’s WMD [weapons of mass destruction] and ballistic missile programs,” continued the spokesperson on Tuesday via email to VOA’s Korean Service.
The U.N. Security Council passed Resolution 2397 in 2017 requiring all member states to send North Korean workers back to their countries by December 2019. It was adopted in response to North Korea’s launch of a Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile in November 2017.
It will be the first time that a list of North Korean restaurants in China will be included in a U.N. expert panel report since the December 2019 deadline, although the panel published a report listing North Korean restaurants nine months prior to that.
Liu Pengyu, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, told VOA’s Korean Service on Monday that he was “unaware of the specific situation.”
He continued, via email, “China has been earnestly implementing the relevant Security Council resolutions. The resolutions are not just about sanctions, but also stress the importance of dialogue.”
He added, “We oppose taking a selective, sanctions-only approach without due emphasis on promoting dialogues.”
Joshua Stanton, an attorney based in Washington who helped draft the U.S. Sanctions and Policy Enforcement Act in 2016, said, “The fact that China allows them to work inside its territory five years after a U.N. deadline to repatriate them is further proof, which can be added to an already extensive file of evidence, that it is a flagrant violator of the sanctions it voted for in the Security Council.”
Stanton said via email to VOA on Wednesday that North Korea uses restaurants it sets up overseas as “fronts for laundering cash from forced labor, cybercrimes and other illicit activities.”
The regime also sends young women from North Korea to work long hours at its restaurants abroad and then confiscates most or all of their wages, he said.
The list includes seven North Korean restaurants in Beijing and seven in Shanghai.
Shenyang, a city in Liaoning province that borders North Korea, has 17.
Dandong, a city about 12 kilometers (7.45 miles) from the North Korean city of Shinuiju, has the second-largest concentration of North Korean restaurants on the list. Shinuiju is near the Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge that connects the two countries.
Aaron Arnold, a former member of the U.N. Panel of Experts for North Korea’s sanctions and currently a senior associate fellow at the Royal United Service Institute, a London-based security think tank, told VOA Korean that China and North Korea could be violating other U.N. sanctions. He spoke with VOA Korean on Wednesday via email.
If the restaurants are considered a joint venture, they are in violation of Resolution 2270, which bans establishing new entities with North Korea, according to Arnold. If the restaurants have bank accounts in China, they also violate Resolution 1874, he continued.
UNSC Resolution 2375, passed in 2017, bans all joint ventures including existing ones formed with North Korea.
“Our own government is also to blame if Chinese banks are either willfully or negligently laundering that money and not facing subpoenas, investigations, special measures and secondary sanctions for doing so,” said Stanton.
Secondary sanctions refer to sanctions targeting foreign entities and individuals such as Chinese banks that conduct businesses with already sanctioned entities, individuals and countries such as North Korea.
Arnold said the presence of North Korean restaurants in China represents “another example of China failing to implement its sanctions obligations.”
North Korea has also operated restaurants in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand in the past. Some have closed since the sanctions and the COVID-19 pandemic, while others remain open.

- Cruise lines are embracing private destinations in part due to overcrowding at popular ports.
- At least 14 private cruise destinations have opened or will open soon in the Caribbean.
- The exclusive stops could help manage overtourism by spreading out cruise passengers.
Cruises are more popular than ever, but they’re also more controversial than ever, with destinations around the globe limiting or outright banning them from ports in an effort to combat over-tourism.
So what’s a cruise line to do when it’s no longer welcome at popular destinations? Create its own exclusive stops.
It’s a strategy popular cruise lines are increasingly embracing. Private islands and beaches have popped up throughout the Caribbean, one of the world’s hotspots for cruises. Travel Weekly reported there are already 14 private cruise destinations currently open or opening soon in the region, from Disney’s Castaway Cay to Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay, both located on private islands in the Bahamas.
Carnival Cruise Line’s Celebration Key, a $500 million project set to open in the Bahamas in July 2025 with resort-style amenities, is expected to welcome 2 million of its cruise passengers each year, Business Insider’s Brittany Chang reported.
The private destinations are especially important in the Caribbean, where the demand for cruises continues to grow and where islands with cruise ports are already dealing with overcrowding. Travel blogs frequently instruct travelers on how to avoid crowds at the most popular cruise ports, like Cozumel, Mexico, and Nassau, Bahamas.
The private destinations in the Caribbean are also close to Florida, where residents of Key West have been trying to ban or limit cruise ships from docking there for years.
Destinations around the world have opted to ban or restrict cruise ships
Amsterdam, Barcelona, Venice, Santorini, and French Polynesia have all implemented restrictions on cruise liners, from outright bans to visitor limits or limiting cruise ship size. The destinations tend to cite overcrowding and environmental pollution as factors.

“There’s tension for tourism, and then there’s tensions for ‘Well, wait a minute, this is too much tourism,’” Jay Schneider, chief product innovation officer at Royal Caribbean, told Travel Weekly. “Whether it’s working with local ports, whether it’s working with local governments, trying to find that right balance is where that macro kind of viewpoint comes in.”
Koreen McNutt, senior vice president of sales and trade engagement and commercial sales officer at MSC Cruises, told the outlet one benefit of private destinations is that they can ensure they are places where the cruise liners are actually wanted.
Tourism experts say overcrowding is not necessarily the result of too many tourists but the fact that everyone tends to go to the same places at the same time. Spreading out cruise passengers to private and exclusive destinations could help address that part of over-tourism.
“At the end of the day, there’s roughly 8 billion people on the planet. In the next 20 to 30 years, there’s going to be another billion people on the planet. A lot of those people will travel. Where are they going to go?” Alan Fyall, the Visit Orlando endowed chair of tourism marketing at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management, previously told Business Insider. “Well, the same places as everybody else.”
