Nearly 7,000 students attend middle school in Des Moines, at traditional schools as well as special programs. Ten comprehensive middle schools – Brody, Callanan, Harding, Goodrell, Hiatt, Hoyt, McCombs, Meredith, Merrill and Weeks – are located throughout the city.
