A new poll by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research shows a clear rise in support for Hamas across Palestinian society.
About 60 percent of respondents said they are satisfied with Hamas’s performance, with backing stronger in Judea and Samaria than in Gaza. In a hypothetical presidential matchup between Hamas’s Khalid Mishal and Mahmoud Abbas, Mishal would win by a wide margin, 63 to 27 percent.
Roughly 53 percent said Hamas was right to launch the October 7 attack. If legislative elections were held now, 44 percent would vote for Hamas and 30 percent for Fatah, while a third of the population remains unaligned.
Over the past two years, more Palestinians say their support for Hamas has grown than declined.
