The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has conducted drone strikes targeting Muslim Brotherhood-tied Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) positions in Khartoum for the past 4 consecutive days.
This new trend shows just how wide drone warfare is spreading following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In the recent attacks, the international airport in Khartoum and surrounding military sites have been hit.
The Khartoum International Airport, which has been closed since April 2023, briefly reopened on October 22nd with a single domestic flight from Badr Airlines.
The RSF’s strikes, starting just before this milestone, have forced an indefinite postponement and proves the RSF’s ability to project power through long-range drone strikes.
More than 25 000 people have been killed in the civil war that broke out in 2023, while 14 million have been displaced and face widespread famine risks.
However, for some reason, the war has received almost no media attention in comparison to the Israel-Hamas War.
